Kathryn has particular expertise in the application of the NSW Integrated Planning & Reporting (IP&R) Framework and works with councils to meet their legislative obligations and achieve better practice.
Kathryn also facilitates organisational maturity assessments and
service reviews.
In addition to doing the job for you, Kathryn also works to build in-house expertise and capabilities offering training, mentoring and on the job assistance.
She specialises in upskilling staff in integrated planning and reporting; working with them to better understand the framework, and apply practical solutions that best suit the needs of individual councils and communities.
Kathryn is also an experienced presenter and facilitator who enjoys creating inclusive, welcoming and respectful environments for people to collaborate in.
Kathryn has over 20 years' experience working with a diversity of stakeholders and facilitating discussions often on highly sensitive and political issues.
During that time she has developed community and stakeholder strategies and delivered numerous engagement activities such as community focus groups, agency planning workshops and deliberative engagement processes.
Kathryn is also a skilled writer who can turn your corporate documents into engaging, easy to understand documents.
Kathryn Ridley has over 20 years' experience working for government and not for profits.
Prior to embarking on a career as a consultant, Kathryn held principal and senior policy roles in State Government agencies including Women NSW and the Department of Premier and Cabinet. She has also held senior management positions in the not for profit and local government sectors managing portfolios covering corporate strategy, performance analysis and reporting, community engagement, customer experience, governance, community development and project management.
Kathryn takes a personable and practical approach: understanding her clients' needs and tailoring individual solutions that are affordable, achievable and focused on achieving great results.
Recent clients include Blacktown City Council, Blue Mountains City Council, Cessnock City Council, Northern Rivers Joint Organisation, Wingecarribee Shire Council and Local Government Professionals Australia - NSW and Victorian branches.
Kathryn has a strong understanding of government legislation along with technical expertise and first-hand experience developing and implementing strategy. She understands the complexities, sensitivities and unique challenges facing all levels of government., communities and not for profits - from achieving best value services with limited resources, to building much needed resilience, sustainability and opportunity.
